honorees include Civic Leader Julie Foudy, Julie Foudy Sports Leadership
Academy; Courageous Student-Athletes Maurice Torres, Montclair State
University, and Brittany and A.J. Detwiler, Boston University; Coach
Jody Conradt, University of Texas; Barrier Breaker Johnnie Williams;
and Community Organization The Miracle League. Each of these individuals
and organizations exemplify the meaning of National STUDENT-Athlete
Day by promoting the positives of sport and using their status as athletes
to give back to the community.
